‘Look For Me under the Rainbows’ by Bernard Jan.
Forgive any errors, I Can’t see the screen I am so moved. So, don’t forget your box of tissues. I have read this in one evening, I couldn’t put it down.
Told by a ‘Seal family,’ the life of little Danny (A seal) is an amazing fight for survival. Mr Jan always astounds me with his poetic vocabulary and depth of feeling in his work. I will say it is graphic but then to raise awareness of certain inhumane acts I believe it necessary.
I don’t want to give too many spoilers but this book is worth every star, teaching compassion and humanity, and love. (I cried) I have to add that I am a soft touch when it comes to animals; I have two best friends. (My dogs)
